We prefer diving the old fashioned way. Over the past 20 years, diving has evolved quite a bit on Cozumel. The boats are faster, many dive shops try to fit two groups into a day, they go to the closest reefs to conserve gas when the best reefs are further south. Many operators will load up the boats, and take people to the beach clubs so they can get a commission on what you eat (and you have to pay for lunch). The majority of the dive operators only give you water on the boat and sometimes soft drinks. The average cost of a 2 tank dive is between $60.00 and $75.00 USD.
 
Our recommended dive operator has been doing business on Cozumel for more years then most other dive shops have been around. Sergio (dive master extraordinaire) was one of Jacques Cousteau's favorite people when he was doing research here. Sergio's daughter Betty was taught to swim by Tarzan (not joking; Johnny Weismiller). She still holds the record for the fastest swim to the mainland from here. Betty also teaches the local kids to swim. This family has a rich history connected to Cozumel and it's reef systems. No one on Cozumel knows our waters better.

You will leisurely enjoy the boat ride to your dive spot in a very nice "slow boat" with shade and drinks. You will be the only group going out that day so no rush! You can go to any reef you want (and we can tell you which are the best reefs). Only small groups go out on the boat, and they will take you to a deserted beach for your surface interval and serve you a GREAT lunch (which you do not pay extra for) with all the soft drinks and water you want. Now that is what I call doing Cozumel diving the old fashioned way.
