The entire complex where the Observatory is, a domed building, lays out along a strict astronomical lines and seems to have served as a gian calendar or cosmic clock. Once you have walked, climbed and learned about this magnificent ancient culture, enjoy a refreshing visit to the Cenote Ik-Kil where you will be able to swim for a while. Tulum and Coba: Visit Tulum and Coba in the same day! Tulum is the only Mayan city on the sea shore. It was the central distribution point for good coming from trade to be distributed throughout the Yucatan Peninsula. After Tulum you will be taken to Coba which is still being uncovered. Archeologists believe that Coba may be the largest site yet discovered in the Mayas. It is also the home to the tallest pyramid in all of the Mayas; "The Nohoch-Mul", with 122 steps! If you get to the top of this pyramid, you will see the rainforest and four lakes. Also feel the energy of the awesome place, and learn about this ancient culture.
